To Be or not to be Frugal? But Fur @ 100,000.00 is the question

When do you decide if you want to Invest in fashion  or Bargain shop.. well  on a scavenger hunt on finding the perfect fur with A-team Member Skylar-Ny’cole aka Ms Rich Rich, we discovered when to invest.   

Skylar-Ny’cole wanted something hot trendy and different... going in and out of the many stores on 5th ave in New York, she would often say while trying on different pieces “ I want something MAGICAL when I put it on, I want to feel that I am a Queen of the Nile” 

After many hours of hunting, I was ready to give up!... my feet hurt! There will be no crown for her today, but she pulled my arm into one last store; that she had visited two days prior.

 we took the elevator to the third floor of BERGORF GOODMAN and she said in a whisper “ If it’s still here then it’s meant to be!”

There it was the most beautiful flawless, magical, unique, and Gaudy piece of fur I had ever seen. we both looked at each other instantly hearing angles with a full organ playing in our heads...Halleuja! Halleuja! Halleuja!

Once Skylar-Ny’cole discovered the disinger was Rick Owens her heart was set on having this exclusive sleeveless, hooded, full length fur.

Now it’s time to make that call to Mommy and Daddy to get the OKaaaay to slide the Black Card.. Daddy who trumps Mommy is in London and isn’t picking up his phone, so Sklar -Ny’cole, nervously phones Mommy who is the rational joy-kill. 


The stakes are high for Skylar-Ny’cole, not wanting this one of a kind piece to be sent back to consignment or worse sold to another buyer.....she needs a yes!!! Mommy picks up on the third ring.  “Mommy I’ve found the perfect fur, and instead of the Bentley for my Birthday, I want this fur, it’s a one of a kind; and no one will have anything like it.”


 watching Skylar-Ny'cole go back and forth for several min., myself and the sales associates are drooling on the edge of our seats, ear hustling anxiously waiting for that “YES” verbally or through body language...




In the back of my mind I’m thinking  “I can't wait to borrow that fur” and I know the sales associates are thinking “ there will be extra xmas shopping from this commission!”....  

Ending results, Joy-kill told her to sleep on it, so she didn’t get a YES, but she didn't get a NO,.... to be continued.......As we keep hope Alive

Hot spot for fun in New York EMPIRE HOTEL Rooftop Bar and Lounge

63rd Street -Lincoln Center- New York, New York

My girls and I  AKA “The A Team” were ready to hit the streets and have a good time...we wanted to find something that was  hot , trendy, fashionable yet low key with great music.. we didn’t feel like bumping elbows at the club with the hip hop youngsters, sugar daddy smooth talkers or the rat -head hoochie mamma's. We wanted to be able to really enjoy our bottle service and  talk amongst each other, it was a special occasion after all... Princess Jazzmen's Birthday!!!!   




So we decided on a Lounge would be a better setting then a night club... The Bar and Lounge we choose  was located on the 12th floor of  a distinctive New York City luxury hotel. Once we arrived  we saw the cue wrapped around the corner and we knew we were at the right spot.  Everyone in line gave off an air of classic fashionability  with a sprinkle of wealth.  We immediately walked to the front of the cue, where the head bouncer smelling of a sexy masculine fragrance took us in from head to toe like a piece of meat in one look. He smiled making contact with princess Jazzmen’s green eyes “it just the four of you”, yes we replied in unison and were ushered  thru the rope and  headed towards the elevator.  Snickers and dirty looks hit our backs and shoulders, pouring out of the on looker’s who are still in line. We high five d each other; excited that we had a made a good choice for tonight.

The Empire Hotel Rooftop Bar & Lounge offered a magnificent view of Lincoln Center as well as the Broadway & Columbus Avenue gateway to Manhattan's Upper West Side .

This unique indoor-outdoor space contained a variety of venues for both private and semi private events.. ie bottle services out in the open vs, your own private cabana.  The place was beautiful,  My mouth dropped at the west terrace which had retractable glass roof; the expansive outdoor east terrace with the iconic Empire Hotel neon sign and private cabanas were the bomb dot com ; and the Indoor Lounge with large, open space a fire place & comfortable lounge seating were right up our alley.

According to the amazingly talented cocktail waitress the beautiful Mrs. Fe Fe, we were in the right building to celebrate Princess Jazzmen's birthday! Apparently pop diva Beyonce Knowles and hubby, were there in June celebrating her lil sis’s Solange Knowles birthday soiree and Victoria’s Secret Beauty Heidi Klum had her season 8 premiere party for “project Runway there in July..

By the end of the night we discovered that you shouldn’t mix champagne and vodka... said with the memories of a headache....ooh and that The Empire Hotel Rooftop had in deed lived up to it’s reputation, the Dj was jamming all night long, The service was outstanding, the ambiance was star-tacular. “The A team” had a fun fashionable time.. I would recommend the Empire Hotel bar lounge, it is the perfect stage for sunset toasts and toasty fireside soirees in the fall. The fabulous vast yet intimate space was the perfect place to both experience and escape the city below while celebrating princess Jazzmen’s birthday…we partied like a rock and had a blast!

I made the Cut!!!!

As one of the real women representing this new brand I can attest to how amazing this product is, and also how amazing Fila’s marketing department is. I  found it jaw  dropping  when I discovered during the casting  that  “the campaign is about empowering women to look better, not becoming a sex object. It is a celebration of all women and where they hope to be. It is inclusive – for all women, not just models”. That’s like totally unheard of and inspiring. I am so honored to be apart of a trend setting marketing campaign that will help undue the negative side effects of self hatred, insecurities, caused by many other

companies promoting products to women.

Fashion Night out in New York at Tre's Jolie Beauty Boutique

It could only be Fashion's Night Out, the one-night celebration dreamed up by Wintour to lure shoppers into stores; where  Tre’s Jolie Beauty Boutique could unveil their new fall hair collection.   This spectacular fun dazzled event was Hosted by the owners and creative genesis’s Kimmie Hendrix and Dale Edgenhill and with the help of Make up artist Emy Ika; Fashion Night Out at Tre’s Jolie Beauty Boutique was huge success.




W.27th was packed with taxis and on lookers crowding the sidewalks. at least a hundred  people lined up outside the store front of Tre’s Jolie Beauty Boutique, where people flocked shouting “ooooh’s and ahhhh’s”  as the unveiling of  their new fall hair collection called “Inevitable hair” begun.  the hair colors, high lights and styles really stood out on the diverse array of female and male models; that marched out of the store front  stopping to pose for each photographer who lined up in front of them snapping away.

"I'm definitely going to be making an appointment," said an on looker, who just happen to be walking by and was taken back by the new collection. "I'll put some money into this salon." shouted another guest trying to squeeze their way past security.
